The Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Ludhiana, successfully concluded a three-day training programme on “Agricultural Export: Overcoming the Challenges and Harnessing the Potential” under the Krishi Unnati Yojana (KUY). The programme, held from 10–12 August 2026, witnessed the participation of 11 participants, including progressive farmers and officers from various departments, who were keen to explore opportunities in agricultural exports.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director, PAMETI, emphasized that diversification into agricultural exports presents a significant opportunity for Punjab’s farmers and agri-entrepreneurs to enhance their income through value addition, quality production, and market-oriented agriculture. He encouraged the participants to utilize the knowledge gained during the programme to develop export-oriented enterprises and contribute to strengthening Punjab’s presence in international agricultural markets.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Harmeet Kaur, Deputy Director (Business Management), PAMETI. It commenced with course orientation, and an interactive ice-breaking session, followed by technical sessions on the global agricultural export landscape and emerging opportunities. Participants also gained valuable insights about international buyer expectations and market requirements from experts representing APEDA and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
Throughout the programme, participants actively interacted with resource persons from PAMETI, APEDA, FIEO, PAGREAXO, GADVASU, and industry experts. The training provided practical knowledge on export procedures, quality compliance, branding strategies, market access, logistics, and policy support, equipping participants with the skills required to tap into global markets.
The participants appreciated the practical nature of the sessions and the opportunity to interact with experts from various export-related organizations. They expressed confidence that the training would help them better understand export opportunities, quality standards, international market requirements, and government support mechanisms essential for successful agricultural exports.
